We had such an amazing night with you all when we hosted the incredible TINARIWEN at the Odeon in June that we have decided to come back with a very special summer concert this December.

WAXAHATCHEE

The moniker of one of the hardest working singer-songwriters in the game, Katie Crutchfield, was born in Alabama, grew up near Waxahatchee Creek, and later skipped town, striking out on her own as Waxahatchee. That was over a decade ago. Crutchfield says she never knew the road would lead her here, but after six critically acclaimed albums, she’s never felt more confident in herself as an artist.

While her sound has evolved from lo-fi folk to lush alt-tinged country, her voice has always remained the same: honest, close with a poetic Southern lilt. Determined in her desires and convictions, she is ready to tell whoever will listen. Saint Cloud was a breakthrough album for Waxahatchee. Released at the height of the pandemic, it entered #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart and was critically praised as a welcome musical escape for many. St Cloud cemented Waxahatchee’s status as an essential voice in the indie-Americana scene.

Her latest album, Tigers Blood, continues her stream of success. With features from MJ Lenderman, Spencer Tweedy, and Phil Cook, the record continues to break new ground. Digging even deeper than before, this complex and beautiful album will receive its live Australian debut this December.

Christopher Coleman and the Soft Knees Band

We're pleased to announce that Christopher Coleman and the Soft Knees Band will be supporting WAXAHATCHEE at the Odeon on December 8th.

Coleman has come to be considered one of Tasmania's finest artists and his four studio albums demonstrate a devotion to lutruwita and vulnerability.

In 2024, CC released his 'Soft Knee Recordings', a self-produced effort recorded in a shed above the timtumiliminaya (Derwent River).

The Soft Knees Band features Jethro Pickett, Teresa Dixon, Stuart Hollingsworth and Scott Targett. True to their name, they treat songs from Coleman's back catalogue tenderly.
